FAIRFAX, Va. –Some college students who want to vote in elections apparently don’t mail back their absentee ballots because they don’t know where to buy stamps.
Officials in Fairfax County, Virginia, conducted a focus group with their college interns over the summer. Many participants said their friends who didn’t send back their absentee ballots thought “it was too much of a hassle or…didn’t know where to get a stamp,” Washington radio station WTOP reported.
“Across the board, they were all nodding and had a very spirited conversation about, ‘Oh yeah, I know so many people who didn’t send theirs in because they didn’t have a stamp,'” Lisa Connors with the Fairfax County Office of Public Affairs told WTOP.
“That seems to be like a hump that they can’t get across,” Connors added.
Outcome based education, we can’t make some students feel bad because they are idiots. I’m sure they will be prepared when they have to get a job!
They don’t know where to buy stamps? Hahaha! Looks lovely me the DemocRATS are going to lose out on some support.
They can’t wipe their arses either but sure know how to type on those phones don’t they? This country is in trouble!
I’m 62 and I’m lucky I don’t have many more years to witness our country going to hell. What a damn shame.
From the looks of the mail piece in the photo, which appears to be a return envelope for an absentee ballot, you don’t even need a stamp to mail it!
And these are college kids? What are degrees good for these days? There was a study done not too long ago that concluded that people who graduated high school before 1980 had the same level of education as the average bachelor’s degree in college today because the first year or two are remedial and designed to get kids caught up from schools who simply didn’t do their jobs.
A lot of those, I’ll wager, were like the redneck towns where I live, where sports are everything and academics mean jack shit. Schools pass students who can barely write their names or risk getting state funding. And that attitude of sports dominance continues into college where athletes don’t even bother attending classes and tutors do all their work for them. I worked with many people who had BS (bullshit) degrees and were dumber than the parking lot.
My sister worked for the local university in the grad ed building and would have fifth year seniors asking what floor room 505 was on. Don’t tell me society isn’t getting dumber by the day.
for whom does the bell tolls….it tolls for thee. I bet the kids know how to use UPS/FDX/AMZN for internet shopping. the Postal Circus is a relic…….every year it will just decline further. Darwin’s theory of evolution pertaining to business……the strong survive and the weak get weeded out. (take away the government tit and it would be gone already) us f/c mail, junk mail, flats all in steep decline, (PO had 100% of express mail-pissed it away to less than 3% market share)packages is where its at…..do you really think the Postal Circus can go toe to toe with UPS/FDX/AMZN? President Trump offer a 40K buyout and you will see a brain drain exit that will finish it off.
Is anybody going to inform these”young students” where to buy stamps, and for this matter, how and where to mail their(absentee-ballots.) Or have ALL us older people (I mean those born before about 1980),just become too collectively Retarded,to enlightened the young? If more than a miniscule number of these”young, votes”,just don’t happen,we definitely know, that the latter is true.
they are too stupid to vote…well, these are positively votes for democrats.
This is true. I work in a college town as an SSDA. I can’t tell you how many times I have been asked, “Do you sell stamps here”? Or, “I’ve never mailed a letter before”. Some kids were never taught cursive writing. Unbelievable.
hey….isn’t diversity and inclusion going to save the day? ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Future of America. Sad.
