South Carolina postal employees intercept mail from fraudulent work-at-home scam

string1Alert personnel at the Walterboro Post Office were apparently able to shut down a mail fraud attempt before it happened last week.

Priscilla Walters was working the retail window at the Walterboro Post Office when a young male came up to the window and dropped off 18 Express Mail envelopes with Click N Ship postage labels.

Walters examined the envelopes the man had dropped off and thought something didn’t look right about the labels on the pieces of mail.

The postal employees found that even though the envelope weighed just a few ounces, the shipping label said the packages weighed over a pound.

Further examination determined that the labels on the envelopes the man had dropped off were the same. Someone had printed copies of one shipping label and placed them on the envelopes.
