Surveillance videos reveal possible link between front porch mail thefts

On Wednesday morning, Berkeley Police arrested a man suspected of stealing a $250 stroller from the doorstep of a home near Prince and Telegraph who may have been involved in the theft of a package in Oakland.

The Berkeley homeowners recorded the theft on a surveillance camera.

2 Investigates was already looking into another theft caught on video a mile and a half away on 53rd Street in Oakland.

Now authorities are taking a closer look at the videos to see if the same man might be responsible.  In both videos, a man is seen wearing a two-toned ball cap was riding a bicycle with a small trailer attached to the back.

Last week, neighbors told KTVU the man took a package from a woman’s front porch only minutes after a postal worker delivered it.

Apparently oblivious to the cameras on the house in front of him, the man could be seen ripping open the box and removing what the victim says was a custom made wedding dress from Ethiopia.
