Two South Carolina postal workers indicted for delay of mail

Anderson Woman Indicted for Delay of Mail by a Postal Employee
Linda M. Hughes, age 40, of Liberty, South Carolina, was charged in a single-count Indictment with delay of mail by a postal employee, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1703.  The maximum penalty Linda M. Hughes could receive is five years imprisonment for violating Title 18, United States Code, Section 1703.  The case was investigated by agents of the United States Postal Service, O.I.G., and is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney David C. Stephens of the Greenville office for prosecution.

Kevin William Pearson, age 30, of Anderson, South Carolina, was charged in a single-count Indictment with delay of mail by a postal employee, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1703.  The maximum penalty Kevin William Pearson could receive is five years imprisonment for violating Title 18, United States Code, Section 1703.  The case was investigated by agents of the United States Postal Service, O.I.G., and is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney David C. Stephens of the Greenville office for prosecution.
The United States Attorney stated that all charges in these Indictments are merely accusations and that all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
