In the United Kingdom, Royal Mail will pilot Sunday service at 100 offices
The Postal Service constantly seeks to improve customer service, and so do other posts around the world.
In the United Kingdom, about 100 Royal Mail delivery offices will be open on Sunday afternoons, the newly privatized organization announced recently.
The pilot program is slated to begin later in the summer. Most Royal Mail delivery offices are open six days a week.
Additionally, Royal Mail’s express parcels business, Parcelforce Worldwide, will start a Sunday delivery service for online shoppers. Shoppers who choose Sunday service will receive a text message between 30 and 90 minutes before delivery.
Royal Mail also announced it will begin Monday deliveries for online purchases made on Saturday and Sunday.
“Through these new Sunday services, we are exploring ways to improve our flexibility and provide more options for people to receive items they have ordered online,” said Royal Mail CEO Moya Greene.
The Postal Service has started delivering Amazon and Priority Mail packages seven days a week in test markets, and in many communities, postal services are available every day through Village Post Offices and other retail outlets.
