SUBJECT: Manager, Industry Engagement & Outreach

I am pleased to announce the selection of Judy de Torok as the Manager, Industry Engagement & Outreach, Consumer and Industry Affairs.

Judy has been detailed to this position since April. She has promoted the value of mail by forging partnerships with customers and industry mailing associations, and has helped to resolve customer problems and concerns. Judy joined Consumer and Industry Affairs in the midst of several challenging industry issues and has assisted in the development of strategic messages, and communication plans and briefings to communicate the Postal Service’s objectives and goals to key stakeholders.

Prior to this position, Judy served as the Chief of Staff to Deputy Postmaster General Ronald Stroman and was also the Acting Vice President, Corporate Communications – two critical Postal Service positions in which she gained experience that will be extremely beneficial as she continues to work. with our stakeholders, customers, and the mailing industry.

Judy also brings nearly twenty years of Communications, Government Relations, and Public Policy experience to the position. Prior to joining the Postal Service, Judy worked as a journalist for daily and weekly newspapers, a public relations executive for an advertising agency and a public relations executive for a Community College. These experiences also add to her portfolio in being able to connect with our customers, particularly our industry association members.

I would also like to thank Sharon Owens for her outstanding contributions to Consumer and Industry Affairs. Sharon served as the Manager, Industry Engagement and Outreach for more than three years and managed many of our key customer outreach programs, including the National Postal Forum and Postal Customer Councils. As Vice-Chair for the Mailers Technical Advisory Committee, she was instrumental in working with the industry to discuss postal policy issues. Please join me in wishing Sharon well as she pursues her career in postal operations.
