– As referenced in Article 8, sections 4 and 5, of the USPS-NALC and USPS-APWU national agreements, the December period (during which penalty overtime regulations are not applicable) consists of four consecutive service weeks. This year, the December period begins Pay Period 25-16, Week 2 (December 3, 2016) and ends Pay Period 01-17, Week 1 (December 30, 2016).
This has always been in the contract even is years where it didn’t go to arbitration. So yes, the nalc had to agree to it at 1 time
The NALC did not negotiate this clause. Like most of our contracts this was done by an arbitrator. Before you lash out you should know what you’re talking about.
Why the nalc ever agreed to this stupid clause I’ll never know. We have to work longer hours in the dark and cold this time of year, yet we don’t get paid for it like we should. Once again, thanks nalc. Can’t wait to give you my dues from my next check for all you do for us.
