Cincinnati District is changing its name to Ohio Valley District, beginning Feb. 8.
According to USPS, the new name better reflects the current identity of the communities served by the district.
During the 1993 USPS restructuring, Ohio was represented by the Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus Performance Clusters. Akron and Cleveland became what is now Northern Ohio District, and Columbus became part of Cincinnati District in 2011.
Ohio Valley District stretches from the upper portion of Kentucky northward, to the shores of the Sandusky River. The district extends west, from Southeastern Indiana through Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus. The district’s eastern border is the Ohio River.
“Although the name changes, the commitment to excellent customer service that the former Cincinnati District is well known for remains and will carry on under our new banner,” said Acting District Manager Sam Jouden
