USPS continues direct mail promotions

More than 500 business customers participated in the Direct Mail Mobile Coupon/Click-to-Call Promotion, which ran through April 30.

The first of six 2013 USPS promotions, the Mobile Coupon/Click-to-Call incentive was an opportunity for mailers to integrate mobile barcode technologies, such as QR codes, in their direct mail. Registered mailers received an upfront 2-percent discount on postage.

Consumers who received the integrated mailings could either scan a mobile barcode for coupons to store on their mobile devices or scan the mobile barcode to initiate a phone call via a “click-to-call” button or link using their mobile device.

This spring and summer, USPS is launching three more promotions — Product Samples, introduced earlier this month, Picture Permit, and Emerging Technologies. Like the Mobile Coupon/Click-to-Call incentive, these promotions will help mailers acquire new customers and build brand awareness.
