USPS: Elizabeth Johnson named acting vice president, Corporate Communications

1/29/15 – Elizabeth Johnson has been named acting vice president, Corporate Communications. She will lead efforts to help the Postal Service communicate about important activities internally and externally.

Johnson succeeds Mitzi Betman, who retired as vice president, Corporate Communications, and chief of staff Jan. 16.

“Corporate Communications plays a vital role in informing employees and customers about the work of the Postal Service, and I look forward to working with the team to continue those efforts,” Johnson said.

Johnson, district manager for Mississippi District, previously served as district manager for Central Florida and Maine districts. She worked in Human Resources for many years, including as a labor relations manager for Northeast Area and a human resources manager for Midwest Area.

“In all her positions, Elizabeth has demonstrated a passion for communications and has achieved high levels of performance as a result,” said PMG Pat Donahoe.

  1. I’ve worked in the MS district my whole life and this is the perfect job for her as she is NOTHING but a Corporate shill who couldn’t give a crap about rank-and-file craft employees. She will promulgate whatever lies are put in front of her to save her own job. A truly worthless individual.

    • Ever notice that there’s ALWAYS money for a VP? You’re exactly right. She’s another manager with no real skills other than repeating the corporate line. I love her comment, “Corporate Communications plays a vital role in informing employees and customers about the work of the Postal Service, and I look forward to working with the team to continue those efforts.” Wow. Could she have said anything more empty and meaningless?

  2. And the public wonders why the post office has money problems. Another do nothing overpaid not needed person on the payroll.

  3. Donablow could not leave the all important VP of Corporate Communications, who puts out the BS from management for the employees and public to consume unfilled before his last day.

  4. Alright, another VP, I was worried the vacancy might not be filled. I would hate to see Headquarters have to work with a reduced staff. That would be just like we have to do everyday of the week.
