USPS Halts Mail Delivery to Garden City Home for Weeks

12.15.14 GARDEN CITY – Nothing has shown up in John McMaster’s Garden City mailbox since last month.

He has been waiting for credit card bills, medical records and Christmas packages to be delivered to their home on Ranch Road 33, near Angle Road, where United States Postal Service mail carriers have dropped off letters since his grandfather built the family ranch in 1900.

NewsWest 9 contacted the Garden City Postmaster and regional USPS representatives.

They had no comment, and could not confirm if delivery to other residences on Ranch Road 33 had also been halted.

“Only thing I can figure is [our mail carrier] doesn’t want to get his car dirty or he wants to cut a few miles off and get off [work] early,” said McMaster, who now drives about 18 miles to the Garden City Post Office to pick up his mail.

  1. What the heck?! Is that Colin Jost anchoring the newscast? I thought he only did weekend update on SNL!!

It appears this reporter could have actually investigated the road construction concerns that the carrier was referring to. Simply stating that traffic can use the road, is not looking into the matter. And no, video of vehicles driving by in the dark doesn’t cut it. I would be willing to bet that traffic is being routed too close to the mailboxes at high speeds, and that is why the postal service refuses delivery. The most important delivery every carrier makes each day, is delivering themselves home safe at the end of the day.

And, boy what a zinger that poor old Texan hurled there. Ooooh, he’s a gonna use fed ex to deliver a letter to the PMG. Ooooooooh!!!!!!! That’ll show ’em!!!
