USPS managers accused of doctoring time cards

Buffalo, NY Letter carriers from a local United States Postal Office branch are furious after it was discovered managers were falsifying time cards to make it look like the employees worked fewer hours.

According to the carriers union president, David Grosskopf Jr, the National Association of Letter Carriers investigated after the complaint was brought forward, and found time cards of multiple carriers had been altered out of the Central Park station.

Grosskopf Jr. told 7 Eyewitness News that over the past year and a half, 125 hours were removed from letter carrier time cards. That amounts to $6,249.

It’s unclear whether the managers who falsified the time cards will face disciplinary action.

    • File a grievance with your Shop Steward, provide copies of your pay receipts and any other personal records you have i.e. scanner printouts, vehicle reports, etc… Your Steward will pull your clock rings from the TAC (time and attendance) report, manual edits must be annotated with the persons EIN, the date & time of the edit will be shown also.

  1. I notice that someone suggested that Rolando the carrier President be removed from office. How is it his fault? It is managements responsibility to make the maggots do their job, not the union. All the union can, and should do is humiliate the bastards and bring legal action. If your mother in law visits, its the unions fault.

  2. This has gone on forever at the USPS. Some manager is going to do this to the wrong person some day and we’ll have another Royal Oak or Edmund incident. It won’t hurt my feelings either, as it was done to me years ago.

  3. Nothing will ever change there until someone is not only fired but convicted and put in jail as well! The most corrupt organization I have ever had the misfortune of ever being involved with! Taxpayers are footing their 8 billion dollar hole and they will continue to dig it deeper and deeper as long as they are allowed to do so!!!

  4. It is truth, the some managers would abuse their power of authority by making themselves look good, especially abusing those with disabilities. Post officer employees work very hard for their money, so what does some of these managers do to make themselves look good for their job position level, screw the employees out of their right earn money, especially overtime. Another abuse of power by some manager against those with disabilities, is trying to get rid of all disable employees and try to find able bodies to replace all these disable postal employees, especially veterans! One instance, I was one of them, where this manager wanted all disable postal employees out of his station, but shafting them else where! I have retired since September 8, 2008, under disability with the help of my Veteran Doctor recommendation, who passed away 2010. RIP, my good doctor.

    • This comment is just plain ignorant. Fred cannot make supervisors have integrity. They are doing g what they can at the National level. You need to do your job at the local level. Get real dude.

  5. The time has come to push for a recall of Fred Rolando as national national union president, so Fred Rolando could and should be thrown out office. The union leadership is spineless, gutless and no vision. There as atrocities of all types happening to letter carriers around the country. Fred Rolando’s only statements are Republican and Democrat bullshit Washington fights.

  6. My belief is they are trained to do that. Every year I have to explain how rural carriers are paid because they won’t do it if you don’t know. They lie all the time and see who falls for it. Don’t be gullible.

  7. What about the postmasters that falsify their own time cards. I know one who says she works 40 hours but is only there for a few hours a day.

  8. It is too bad that having accountability is part of some leaders ,and not others. I was once told just lie. I hope that their empty hearts is called to task in the end. Those who are losers will always have followers, trying to promote their way. I hope that your mirror is your backbone as we answer first to us, and then others.

  9. These supervisors should be fired immediately . The carriers should also be more diligent about their hours of work. I worked 30 years at USPO and I knew how many hours I worked. Still no excuse for fraud!

  10. Fire the toolbags. Taking/stealing time and money is a crime.
The toolbags did it to ensure their bonuses. Steal money to
make more money. What a bunch of maroons. Fire them all

  11. just as in the past, nothing will happen to the guilty stupidvisors except promotion to higher level. Look how management was punished in Richmond, Va. over same act. management was placed in different stations. Now if a low like carrier or clerk had done the same thing they would be hauled off in chains!

    • from what I’ve gathered retired and glad is right! Postal inspectors protect management with reassignments or short term demotions which only encourage more timecard abuses down the road. Seems like if we had some firings to set a proper example you would see this practice disappear overnight. Sounds like the blame rests squarely with them as this apparently goes on all over the country.
