USPS: New counter displays promote Global Express Guaranteed

The new Global Express Guaranteed retail counter display.

USPS will soon begin testing new retail countertop displays to make more customers aware of Global Express Guaranteed (GXG), a fast international shipping option that includes transportation and delivery by FedEx Express.

The testing will begin in August and last three months. Displays are being shipped to 2,500 Post Offices, although more locations may receive them later.

“We’ve offered GXG for quite some time. Most offices currently keep GXG shipping supplies behind the counter and this practice limits customer awareness,” said Global Business Managing Director and VP Giselle Valera.

Customers often learn about GXG shipping at retail windows, after they’ve already sealed and labeled their packages. They have to repack packages and complete new documentation if they decide to use GXG, Valera said.

GXG offers 1-3 business day date-certain delivery to more than 180 countries and a money-back guarantee. Additionally, the service is tracked to all destinations and comes with as much as $100 of insurance.
