The news media, blogs and social media often comment that some Postal Service initiatives — or recommendations in pending legislation — are steps toward privatizing the organization.
No one is planning to privatize USPS.
“USPS is doing all it can to grow business, not sell it off,” said PMG Pat Donahoe. “Initiatives like business and retail partnerships will benefit employees by helping build growth and financial stability into the future.”
Retail alliances — where USPS sells products and services through Approved Shippers, Contract Postal Units, or Village Post Offices — give customers more choices where and when they can purchase postal products and services.
These relationships also secure the long-term future of the Postal Service — a goal all stakeholders want. “These partnerships provide greater value and convenience for our current customers and also will attract new customers,” said Donahoe. “This is good for the organization and for our employees.”
Donahoe said USPS is doing what any business that wants to survive and prosper does — adapting to a rapidly changing marketplace and meeting customer needs. “If we don’t adjust, we’ll become another outdated 20th century business — stuck with a rigid business model that doesn’t work,” he said.

Layoffs will soon be here!
Donahoe has been calling the bulk mailers “stakeholders”. This is a term used in reference to people who own stock in a company. So while the PMG says there is no attempt to privatize, why refer to these companies as stakeholders? Why does postal management allow reps from those companies to have offices in Postal Headquarters? Donahoe said last year discounts to these large mailers was somewhere between $13 and $17 billion a year less then what USPS was suppose to charge! Just who is Donahoe working for?
The USPS BOG is made up of a majority on it who are privatizers appointed by G.W. Bush and two by Obama, if they wanted it to be successful, they would have already removed Downahole, the most incompetent PMG ever.
AYE !! I Got that . ISSA that a fact ?
The PMG says “This is good for the organization AND OUR EMPLOYEES”!! I guess you can say that if you aren’t talking about the employees that were let go because of a processing plant closing or you are not talking about the employees that are about to pay twice as much for health insurance because your boss begged to have the benefits you worked your whole life for changed to something similar to Obamacare!! I guess he thinks if he says it over and over someone will believe it?
Wow, if the PMG did all this (closing processing plants)to save the Postal Service….we are in bigger trouble than we thought! The PMG has gone out of his way to beg Congress to screw the Postal employees out of their healthcare benefits….take us out of FEHB to minimize overhead to make the Postal service ready for takeover, why else would you do that? We need a PMG that knows how to run a business, not run one into the ground!!
Nothing to be trusted!
My thoughts exactly. It would take a very foolish person to believe anything from Donohoe or any higher level manager for sure. I can’t honestly include every manager or supervisor I’ve known because to be fair the floor level supervisors are under enormous pressure and used as scapegoats when their higher ups fuck up. They have to follow retarded orders and then get disciplined for an order that couldn’t be followed. That is the work of true chicken shits. Any person who can’t handle personal responsibility doesn’t belong in management in any business, but that’s where they usually land. Not surprising because it’s the good workers that keep America running, while higher ups pay themselves exhorbitant salaries sponging off the backs of you and me.
It’s good the media is starting to get more interested in bad management. It’s the one avenue the PO can’t control, and puts them behind the eight ball better than Congress could.
Well, golly gee, that’s reassuring.
Because after all, postal mgmt. has such a sterling track record of telling the truth, right ?……………………..
The giant sewage line of propaganda continues to flood its contents into the media and the foolish minds who willingly consume it.
The new Postal Slogan should really be, “Remember when we used to get the mail out?”
At my facility, Tour One Priority mail is a massive failure every night except Monday night. It is painfully obvious that they closed far too many facilities because they are catering to the junk mailers instead of requiring them to pay a reasonable rate. It is pitiful and pathetic that the mail service is of paying customers is being destroyed because of a fake and manufactured financial crisis.
Non-union members should be paid minumum wage since they are too selfish and greedy to pay their share so that workers can have a voice in congress so that corporate welfare is not entirely financed on the backs of the working class as it mostly is already.
In other words, what part of “BS” don’t you understand? LOL
Congress puppets us around
What? We are already privatized!!! Just get congress hands out of our Money and we’ll be fine!! PostMaster we are the cash cow for them and their politic games.
