North Florida District is being renamed Gulf Atlantic District to more accurately describe the areas of Georgia, South Carolina and Florida that it encompasses.

The district includes several major cities. In Florida, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Panama City, Pensacola and Tallahassee are part of the district. The Georgia cities of Albany, Augusta, Columbus, Macon and Savannah also are included in the district.

The district includes ZIP Codes beginning with the following first three digits: 320, 322, 323, 324, 325, 326, and 344 in Florida; 304, 308, 309, 310, 312, 313, 314, 315, 316, 317, 318, 319, and 398 in Georgia; and 298 in South Carolina.

The district had been known as the North Florida District for more than 20 years. But the name didn’t accurately reflect the district’s expanded geographical area following a merger with the former South Georgia District two years ago.

North Florida District Manager Charley Miller recently asked district employees to suggest a new name for the district, which stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. He received more than more than 200 suggestions.
