11/6/17 No mail delivery or retail service, customers encouraged to mail early
On Saturday, November 11th, the U.S. Postal Service will observe Veteran’s Day which is a federal holiday. Post Offices will be closed and there will be no mail delivery or retail service on this day.
Normal Friday service will be provided in delivery and collections operations. Customers are encouraged to still drop their mail in blue street collection boxes, so they can be processed early the next business day.
Although there will be no regular mail service, Priority Mail Express (aka Express Mail) is delivered 365 days a year and will be delivered on Saturday, November 11.
USPS says: “We advise anyone with stamped or metered mail ready for delivery to deposit it early in the day into a blue collection box.” “This also applies to business customers that are open during the holiday.”
Residents can also call their local Post Office (or 1-800-ASK-USPS/1-800-275-8777) to obtain hours of operation information. Post Offices will reopen for business on Monday November 13th.
