USPS: Post Offices temporarily closed due to “Carr Fire” in Shasta County California

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. – U.S. Post Offices within Shasta County are being temporarily closed because of the ongoing threat of the “Carr Fire” burning near Redding.

 According to the U.S. Postal Service the closed offices are located in mandatory evacuation areas.

The closed post offices include:

– Shasta Lake, 4425 Front St., Shasta Lake, CA 96019
– Project City, 1985 Cascade Blvd., Shasta Lake, CA 96019
– Summit City, 13701 Hill Blvd., Shasta Lake, CA 96089
– Igo, 6484 Placer Road, Igo, CA 96047

Mail pickup for these Post Offices is available at Redding Main Post Office, 2323 Churn Creek Rd., 96002.

French Gulch Post Office located at 14200 Main Street in French Gulch.

Shasta Post Office, located at 15430 State Highway 299 West in Shasta.

Both of these locations are in areas under evacuation due to the fast growing wildfire.

Customers impacted can pick up their mail at the Downtown Redding Post Office. It’s located at 1647 Yuba Street in Redding. It’s open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. It is closed on the weekend.

Also, the following Post Offices are closed due to wildfires:

Two U.S. Post Offices in Riverside County have been temporarily closed due to the Cranston Fire.

  • Idyllwild Post Office, 54391 Village Center Dr., 92549.
  • Mountain Center Post Office, 29470 US Highway 243, 92561.

Mail pickup for these Post Offices is available at San Jacinto Post Office, 315 E. Esplanade Ave., 92185. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
