USPS has asked automotive suppliers to submit proposals for commercial off-the-shelf, right-hand drive delivery vehicles.
The minimum guaranteed quantity of production vehicles to be purchased under any resulting contract is 3,000 and the maximum quantity is 18,000.
“As the Postal Service continues to assess the delivery fleet mix, we are exploring a wide variety of available options, including commercial off-the-shelf vehicles as a result of this request for proposal,” USPS said in a statement.
The proposals are due Jan. 6.
The request for proposal is part of the Postal Service’s overall strategy to invest in its delivery fleet. This strategy also includes the Next Generation Delivery Vehicles program
