8/14/17 – The U.S. Postal Service intends to establish an Indefinite Delivery, Definite Quantity (IDDQ) contract(s) for the purchase of over 2, 000 Cargo Vans: 18 ft. and 24 ft. cargo body Cab Over Engine (COE) design type and 18 ft. and 24 ft. cargo body Cab Behind Engine (CBE) design type in accordance with the U.S. Postal Service Specification. Approximately 71% of the vehicles will require lift gates; Tuck-Under or Rail type.
The initial period of performance for the two types of cargo vans will be for two years with Option Quantities that could extend the contract period of performance to a maximum of three years. The initial cost of the vehicles could run over $10 million.
