USPS suspends operations at 80 post offices in South Carolina due to Hurricane Matthew
Hurricane Matthew’s current track will result in significant impacts along the Florida coast and northward into Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. The Postal Service has begun preparing for the storm.
The governor of South Carolina has issued an evacuation order for the counties around Charleston, effective at 3 p.m. today. Operations at 80 Post Offices have been suspended because of the storm, currently a category 3 hurricane. A list of the affected Post Offices can be found under the link, “Is my Post Office open?” As further impacts to postal operations are identified, updated information will be posted to this webpage. I sent out a letter on wednesday or thursday before hurricane matthew. I live in Savannah GA. The letter was addressed to be delivered in Maryland and it has not arrived. Are delays happening?
