Postal Service temporarily suspends some delivery and retail operations during Inauguration
Postal customers in Washington, DC, will see some changes as the U.S. Postal Service complies with local authorities’ security preparations scheduled for the Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 20, 2021.
Government officials and law enforcement will cordon off sections of the downtown area during the inauguration. This action will prevent the ability of postal employees to collect and deliver mail in select areas and will cause the temporary closure of some Post Offices.
The following postal facilities will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 19 through Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021. These facilities will reopen as normal on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021.

In addition, the following postal facilities will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021. Retail and delivery operations will resume as normal on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021.

The Post Office located in the United States Department of Agriculture Building, 1400 Independence Ave SW is closed now until Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021. Retail and delivery operations will resume as normal on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021.
The Post Office located in the Frances Perkins Department of Labor Building, 200 Constitution Ave NW, is now closed until Friday, Jan. 25, 2021. Retail and delivery operations will resume as normal on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021.
Many USPS blue collection boxes in Washington, DC, will either be temporarily removed or locked. Notices have been placed on the individual boxes indicating the date they will be unavailable for service. To find a collection box in service, customers can find a list of all collection box locations on usps.com.

Postal customers in Saint Paul, MN will see some changes as the city makes security preparations for the potential upcoming civil events.
USPS blue collection boxes at four locations will be temporarily removed as a security measure to protect the mail and the public:

These are temporary measures to protect postal property, employees and the public. The USPS blue collection boxes will be returned to their original locations when safe to do so.
UTAH
Salt Lake City — Postal customers in Salt Lake City will see some changes as the city makes security preparations for potential upcoming civil events.
The Downtown Salt Lake City Post Office, located at 230 W. 200 S. Libby will close at noon Saturday for the safety of customers and employees in the event of civil unrest.
Four USPS blue collection boxes will also be temporarily removed as a security measure to protect postal property, employees and the public.

Postal customers in Topeka, KS, will see some changes as the city makes security preparations for the potential upcoming civil events.

Colorado
USPS said post office locations in Denver and Colorado Springs would have reduced hours Saturday.
In Colorado Springs, the post office at 201 E. Pikes Peak Ave. was scheduled to be open 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The lobby will be open 6 a.m. to noon.
USPS also said numerous blue collection boxes will be removed. The postal service said all the collection boxes would be replaced after the potential threat is over. According to a list USPS sent out, 22 collection boxes will be removed in Colorado Springs, mostly in the downtown area. source
Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) – The United States Postal Service is temporarily removing blue collection boxes ahead of potential violence targeted at state capitols, including in Wisconsin.
“Due to reports of possible demonstrations beginning this weekend, out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our employees and to prevent damage to postal equipment, a number of blue collection boxes near the capitol are being temporarily removed from service,” USPS spokesperson Bob Sheehan told CBS 58 in a statement.
“The Postal Service will continue to review the ongoing situation that is impacting our community,” the statement went on to say. “USPS apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thank our customers for their understanding at this time.” source
