USPS To Issue World War II Medal of Honor Stamps On Veterans Day

Living Recipients Depicted on Stamp Sheet

From USPS
First-Day-of-Issue dedication ceremony for the World War II Medal of Honor Forever stamps will be held on
Veterans Day, Mon., Nov. 11, 2013 at 9 a.m in Washington, DCMore than 16 million Americans served in the armed forces during World War II; 464 were singled out to receive the Medal of Honor. Of that, nearly half died as a result of their heroic actions to receive the honor posthumously. Only nine are alive today. The Postal Service is issuing the stamps depicting the Medals of Honor and including photographs of the living recipients on the stamp sheet as an appropriate way to recognize the living while still paying respect to all 464 recipients whose names are included in the Medal of Honor World War II Forever stamp prestige folio.

  1. I am very glad that the US Postal Service issue a stamp saluting the WWII CMOH honorees. They deserved to be recognized. Soon they all be gone.

  2. Love the stamp idea! The best thing the postal service can do for our troops and the families of the us postal service is send their managers and supervisors who will be coming in contact with our troop to counciling so they won’t be yell or told to yell at employees to get them to work my their MDOs as they do in Anaheim, California Plant. These troop may be dealing with PRSD or other issues and to be yell at is nothing but a form of billeting. This is not safe or good for any work place.
Thanks for the stamp but passion is golden in life.
