Mail Delivery Update for Dallas, TX Customers

Dallas, TX — The tornado that struck parts of the Dallas area on Sunday, Oct. 20, could have some impacts to local mail delivery.  All Post Offices in the Dallas, TX area, with the exception of the one office listed below, are open and operational; however, residential and business customers may be affected, if their mail receptacle was damaged.  Additionally, in some locations, letter carriers may be unable to access certain neighborhoods, streets, homes, or businesses.  We will provide mail delivery as long as we can safely do so.

If your mailbox was damaged, or if your letter carrier cannot safely access your location, any mail and packages will be taken back to the local Post Office.  All items will be held securely and safely until customers are able to retrieve them.  To obtain your mail or packages, affected customers may come to the Post Office that serves their ZIP Code and pick up items.  To safeguard all mail and packages, customers picking up items must have at least one valid form of identification.  Valid forms of ID include a driver’s license or a passport.

There was only one postal facility affected in Dallas, Preston Royal Finance Unit, located at 5959 Royal Ln., Ste. 539, Dallas, TX  75230, which is temporarily suspended.  P.O. Box customers served by the Preston Royal Finance Unit can pick up their mail and packages at the Robert E. Price Post Office, located at 8135 Forest Ln., Dallas, TX 75230.  This is also the pickup point for customers with packages, Certified Mail, and other accountable items.  Retail services are also available at this location, with these hours of operation: Monday – Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
