According to police, the driver lost control of his vehicle and drove off the highway across the access road just before hitting several light poles and an iron fence. The vehicle then went down an embankment before flipping upside down, police said.

Investigators said the truck’s trailer eventually flipped over the cab and then burst into flames. The driver (age 49) was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, the reason the driver lost control is not currently known. Police did not disclose the man’s name and age pending notification to next of kin. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
