USPS VP Position Downgraded, New COO Gets $25,000 Relocation Pay

The US Postal Service filed a Form 8-K with the Postal Regulatory Commission listing changes to Executives. According to the filing:

On December 8, 2010, the United States Postal Service (the “Postal Service”) announced that Megan Brennan, age 48, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. This appointment becomes effective December 18,2010. Previously, Ms. Brennan served as Vice President, Eastern Area Operations from December, 2006 to December, 2010, and Vice President, Northeast Area Operations from April, 2005 to December, 2006. Ms. Brennan will receive a payment of $25,000 to help cover relocation costs.

Stephen M. Kearney, Senior Vice President, Customer Relations, has retained his position, but by virtue of a realignment of his duties effective December 8, 2010, he is no longer an executive officer as that term is defined in the rules adopted under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
