Amato helped USPS operate more efficiently and better serve customers by developing several innovative technologies, including optical character recognition equipment, automation enhancements and Mobile Delivery Devices.

He joined USPS as a maintenance mechanic in 1985 and later managed the technology planning and analysis, equipment requirements and economic analysis, and software process groups within the Engineering organization. He has served in his current role since 2011.

“Mike’s leadership, advice and many contributions on issues ranging from the postal vehicle fleet to state-of-the-art scanning devices have helped us compete in today’s fast-paced technological world and greatly benefited the Postal Service, our employees and our customers,” Postmaster General Megan J. Brennan wrote in a memo.

  1. and another ones gone, another ones gone, another one bites the dust………sing it loud and proud. they been down so long everthing looks like it is up. on to destroy another place now are we?

  2. factoid-rats are one of the first animals to know that a ship is sinking. they run for their life. 2nd PO VP within two weeks, I rest my case, your Honor!

  3. no engineering degree….just a fancy title. another clown who helped the Postal Circus go into debt by 210 Billion. I wonder if American Airlines would let one of these bozo’s take one of their 747’s out for a joy ride without a commercial airline pilot license, of which a college degree is one of the requirements. every day is Halloween at the postal circus…….get to dress up and have all these fancy titles………without the credentials. why is the place bankrupt according to GAO……..oh that is a hard one to figure out. starting tomorrow I will demand that people refer to me a Vice President of the registry room. what a postal circus. the place has become a sick joke.
