An investigation is underway in Bristow after a 7-year-old was sprayed with pepper spray by a postal worker.
Officials said there is an ongoing issue in the area with loose dogs chasing mail carriers.
“One of our postmen was bitten about a week or two ago on the other side of town. It’s been kind of a thorn, you know? Because a lot of dogs run loose. They aren’t supposed to, but they do,” said resident Ruth Tidwell.

everyone says about their dog, “oh, it won’t hurt you” as it is charging me, so when I spray it and it tries to plow a furrow into the asphalt with it’s head, I reply, “hey, you’re right”.
Collateral damage.
Sounds like residual pepper spray got onto the child after she went to pet the dog after being sprayed.
