ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – It was a scary situation. Investigators said a local U.S. Post Office mail carrier was shot at while on the job.
The accused shooter told investigators he only wanted to scare the mailman. According to federal court documents, the suspect claims the mail carrier was giving him a bad look, and he admitted to shooting at the mailman.
Two people are in federal custody for what investigators said happened to a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier last week in southeast Albuquerque.
“It’s hard to believe, it really is,” said Armando Alvarez.

The mailman called 911 and followed the suspect’s car a short distance.
When the BMW stopped, investigators said the suspect got out and started shooting at the mailman’s work truck while he was on the phone with 911. Read more
