In Fowler, a federal investigation is underway following an armed robbery at the local post office.  It took place Thursday evening around 5:45.

The driver of the truck is contracted to haul mail for the U.S. Postal Service.  He was reportedly held up at gun point as he picked up a load of Fowler’s outgoing mail.

“It would be parcels, letters, all the outgoing mail that would be heading out to go to the mail processing center so it could go out on the trucks and planes to go across the country,” said Jeff Fitch, Public Information Officer with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
