 FOX25’s Sharman Sacchetti got in touch with the company and they changed their tune. This all started when the sister of Staff Sergeant Matthew Pucino contacted us to tell us she just wanted to honor her bother’s sacrifice. But the site refused to print the stamps because of what she wanted to write beneath his image. That’s until we started asking questions.
Lisa Pucino-Haglof showed Sacchetti the custom postage stamps she eventually had made in honor of her late brother. Stamps the web site Zazzle flat out refused to create for her.
“I’m appalled that somebody would do this,” she said.
Lisa wanted to put her brother’s image on the stamps, and the letters, “KIA” for killed in action. At just 34, the special forces soldier was serving his fourth tour when he was killed by a roadside bomb. The stamps would be used for thank you notes for those who had donated to his foundation.
