ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —Someone is ripping open mailboxes across Albuquerque and it’s gotten so bad that they post office refuses to deliver packages to those areas.
The United States Postal Service said when this happens to a mailbox, it won’t leave anything: not mail, packages or even a note.
Jim Southard woke up Thursday morning and took his dog to the park. When he left his home in northwest Albuquerque, he noticed something was wrong with the mailbox cluster on his street.
“The mailbox was open,” Southard said.
It wasn’t just open, but destroyed. Someone tore apart the metal on the back, exposing people’s mailboxes. But it didn’t stop there.
