Customers React To U.S. Postal Service Data HackThe U.S. Postal Service is added to the list of recent data hacks.

Criminals broke into a computer system and stole personal data of employees, retirees, and millions of customers.

“To think that everything can be OK one day, and then the next minute, your information is gone,” says Veral Hunter.

Customers react to the news that hits the United States Postal Service, today.

Officials with USPS say criminals broke into a computer system and stole the personal data of 750-thousand employees and retirees.

The hackers also got data of nearly 3-million Postal Service customers.

“There’s just not a lot you can do. If somebody hacks into your information, they have it,” says Veral Hunter.

The Postal Service is notifying employees and retirees, and says it will pay for credit monitoring.

USPS officials do not believe affected customers need to take any action at this time.

Veral Hunter says it’s a scary situation for everyone to be in, and he blames technology.

“My opinion is, as technology advances, you’re going to have more and more episodes like this. It’s just one of those things that happens,” says Hunter.
