Merry Christmas you thieving assholes. It’s shit like this that makes me think maybe centralized locations and the discontinuation of universal service in bad areas isn’t such a bad thing. Some argue that arming carriers is a good idea, but I am not sure about that. Depends I suppose on the language a would be criminal understands.
I do know one thing: robbing a letter carrier, rural or city, should carry much heavier penalties and Federal charges. No plea bargains, no opportunities for parole or visitation rights. We know stiff sentences do not deter crime, but it’s time to shake that argument for the simple reason being that some slimebags just do not care of possible consequences for their behavior. Therefore, incarceration is best for the rest of us to keep douches like them away from us.
It would take more prisons, which so few want in “their neighborhood”, but they have to go somewhere, and overcrowding just puts very bad people right back out to victimize another day. In the meantime, just stop delivering to high crime areas.
