A postal worker is in critical condition after trying to do the right thing. He was trying to break up a fight between a bunch of kids when he was attacked.
“He’s nice, he’s caring, he’s sweetheart, he do anything for anybody,” said Kanishia Hollins, victim’s granddaughter.
It was supposed to be a lucky day. Darrell Jenkins had a winning lottery ticket in his hand and his family says he was going to cash it at this corner store on Gunston, but they say what happened next would change the postal worker’s life and not for the better.
“He was trying to break up a kid fight elementary, two boys was fighting and I guess one of the people from they side of the family hit him with something,” said Hollins.
The family says the school children started fighting after getting off a school bus.
Hollins said her grand father was “trying to be a good citizen. He 55-years-old, he’s trying to break up fight and instead of person hitting him in head he should have got out of car and tried to break up kids instead of hitting grandad in head.” Read more
