3/22/16 CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A dog attack is stopping the post office from delivering to an east Charlotte neighborhood.
The disruption in service is causing major problems for the elderly and disabled including Bill Smith, a Korean War veteran who said he sacrificed his health serving his country.
“I’ve had seven cancers,” Smith said.
He relies on Veterans Affairs to send his medicine through the mail, but the post office is refusing to deliver to his block.
Dog attacks stop postal delivery to east Charlotte homes
As a carrier(rca), I do not get paid enough to get attacked by dogs or disrespectful people…perhaps the area should have animal control deliver their mail or have them on patrol…and no one is treating anyone like they deserve to have their meds withheld or any other life dependency items, but I don’t think the carrier(s) get treated fairly either…you want me to face a aggressive animal that may or may not have rabies and may or may not rip my throat or body up…what the hell is wrong with your thinking? I didn’t sign up to get attacked I signed up to deliver mail! Hats off to the Post Master for protecting their carriers…
