PORTLAND, Ore. — A man died and another rescued in dramatic fashion after a fiery crash on Northeast Columbia Boulevard and 17th Avenue Wednesday night.
According to Portland police, a speeding van heading west on Columbia about 9:15 p.m. crashed into a U.S. Postal Service tractor trailer. Both vehicles burst into flames.
The driver of the van died at the scene. The driver of the truck survived, thanks to a father and son who stopped to help.
