Video: Everett, WA Mailman caught on camera sideswiping car, driving off

mailmanhitrun2014Everett, Washington (September 17, 2014) The post office delivers through rain, sleet and snow, but an Everett couple said what their mailman brought to their door is not what they expected.

For months they’ve been tangled in government red tape until Q13 Fox News started to investigate.

“They have to paint the whole entire front corner of the car and then clear the whole thing,” said Jon Hume, “The front inner fender well is popped out, the front bumper is popped off of its hanger, headlights clips are broken.”

“My car was parked in my driveway where it was supposed to be and he hit my car,” said Mackenzie Starr.

Starr, and her boyfriend, Hume, said their mailman bumped into her 2001 BMW. Starr’s estimate shows it will cost more than $1,000 to repair, but they’re still waiting for the Postal Service to step up.

  1. besides hitting the car,he also is working without a mailbag, got
earbuds in his ears(both)and is driving with the door open, that is on the news video.my guess is
this carrier is not a safe worker and his shop steward should have a serious
talk with him before something else happens.

  3. to connie the big circle says: look at the clothes the person is wearing. full time employees has to wear uniforms. and the newly hired dont have to. as u can see is it a newly hired. and that person shouldnt have left the scene.

  4. I really wish all these types of stories would indicate if the “mailman” is a full time career employee, a cca or a temp employee. I’d bet in most cases it’s not a full time career employee, but instead one of the runners hired more recently.

  5. Guilty!
