There may be an extra pair of eyes looking out for you this holiday season. A Santa Fe family says their mail carrier is their hero after he helped deputies tracked down suspected burglars.

They’re visiting homes almost every day, but how well do you know your mail carrier? In this case, the postal carrier knew enough about a family to realize when something was wrong.

Matt Donovan and Tim was making his rounds in their Santa Fe neighborhood Monday when he noticed something unfamiliar.

“He just went beyond the call of duty, I mean, for him to be vigilant, for him to be aware that something was wrong,” explained Donovan.

Donovan said it started with a strange vehicle, the family dog barking and an unfamiliar man in the driveway.
