CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Investigators have charged a man in connection with an attempted robbery and bomb threat at a Chesapeake post office Tuesday morning.
Kelly O’Sullivan with the Chesapeake Police Department told WAVY.com the incident occurred in the 1400 block of North Battlefield Boulevard around 10 a.m.
A male suspect approached a clerk, implied he had a handgun and demanded money. When workers were not able to get to the money, the suspect left a package behind and said it was a bomb, O’Sullivan added.
The suspect was arrested just before noon near the Apple Learning Center nearby, at Sam’s Circle and Coastal Way.
