FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WHDH) – Friday in Foxborough Danny Nickerson got to celebrate his 6th birthday with more than 100,000 people from across the globe.
Danny was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor last October and when his mom told a local newspaper the young boy likes to open birthday cards the story went viral.
With all the sadness that we do have in our lives right now its amazing to see him so happy and so energetic, Dannys mom Carley Nickerson said as he climbed over packages at the post office.
The family went to Legoland Friday morning the Danny met Patriots owner Robert Kraft at Gillette Stadium before picking up an estimated 100,000 cards packages at the Foxborough post office.
Its taken a lot of stress off us and thinking about him being sick, Dannys dad Daniel Jamieson said.
It took several hours and multiple trucks to bring all of the cards home where Danny will go through them.
