PONTOTOC – Pontotoc County Sheriff Leo Mask said authorities are looking for a white male and white female, who are suspects in the Friday morning shooting of the Randolph Postmaster.
Postmaster Virginia Duff was reportedly wounded in the arm as she fled the Randolph Post Office during an attempted robbery.
Randolph restaurant owner Tammy Lindsey said Duff burst into her business, bleeding and begging for help.
“(Duff) said a man had jumped over the post office counter demanding money,” Lindsey said. “She said when he pointed the gun at her chest she turned, raised her arm and ran out the back door.”
The bullet reportedly struck Duff in the left forearm, but the wound was described as not life threatening.
Lindsey said that Duff serves as postmaster for Algoma, Randolph and Toccopola.
“The Randolph post office is open for two hours, from 10:30 until 12:30, each day,” Lindsey explained. Read more
