MORGAN’S POINT (October 30, 2013)— A man and woman whom deputies found shot to death early Wednesday in a fire-damaged home have been identified as Brian John Cecil, 41, who lived at 14 White Horse in Morgan’s Point, and Tabitha Sazama, 41, in whose home at 13 Buttercup Loop the two were found.
Investigators think the two died in a murder-suicide.
Deputies responded to the home at around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a 911 call from Cecil’s ex-wife who reported that Cecil had called her and told her that he shot his girlfriend, Sazama, as she attempted to stab him, sheriff’s Lt. Donnie Adams said in a press release late Wednesday afternoon.
Both Cecil and Sazama appeared to have gunshot wounds and deputies found a pistol and a knife near the bodies, Adams said.
Sazama and Cecil were both U.S. Post Office employees, Adams said.
Sazama was a full-time rural carrier and Cecil a part-time city carrier, he said.
