An Oklahoma City postal worker is now the focus of an investigation after he was caught on tape tossing a package onto a couple’s front porch.
Clayton Dorris says he was having lunch with his wife when he got a motion alert on his front porch. He was expecting three packages Tuesday, including a cell phone and some sneakers.
When he brought up his front porch security camera, he was stunned to see a postal worker tossing the box against the wall into a corner.

Really? An independent study was done on package handling. USPS by far was the best. I used to work at UPS. I saw what happened to the pks during unloading. Wow! This was a nothing story. Carrier beware, cameras everywhere.
its been thrown and tossed a dozen times by clerks and mailhandlers, you just never see it. The carrier is outside, not in the post office or in the mail sorting plant. If people actually believe that their parcel is placed neatly and gently in a pile, and placed in a post con or bmc for transport, then they are smoking what was mailed to them from Colorado. It is unceremoniously thrown into containers where heavier and larger things are tossed on top of each earlier parcel. Remember we don’t know what fragile, do not bend, fold…. means. A $20 priority mail has less importance than the $1.20 amazon parcel.
notice…..no uniform, it’s a cheaply paid temp. They don’t care because they are only temp workers. It’s a problem nation wide since the 2006 postal tax passed by a lame duck congress. It requires the USPS to pay 5.5 billion each year to a fund for what is suppose to be future employees (people the postal service isn’t even going to hire, they are down sizing) medical and retirement benefits. Not current employees mind you….. Future! That’s why the USPS Is closing processing plants, and selling properties. All to fund this 2006 postal tax. The post office has never made a profit of 5.5 billion. Never! So why did Congress pass this law…..to Bankrupt the postal service. Certain members of congress want to fatten their pockets by privatizing the USPS. Privatizing the United States Postal Service would allow cost from UPS and FedEx along with the new privatize Postal Service to increase tremendously!. Don’t believe me, do some research. You news people are good at that. Check out Canada and how they privatized in the 80s. At that time you could mail a letter from the USA to Canada with no additional postage. Now to mail a 1 ounce letter in Canada, it will cost you a dollar. In the United States a two ounce letter is 49 cents. Twice the weight for half the price. Ups and FedEx prices are higher in Canada too. Why. Because a cheaper alternative postal service isn’t available anymore. Also…since the privatized postal service in Canada are there to make money, they don’t deliver out to rural areas. You have to drive into the city to get your mail……just wait….within five years, if congress has its way…it will happen in the USA as well. And just who do you think will be delivering the mail in the new privatized US Mail service?? The same postal workers now. They will be out of a job and the new service will need the experience. They will then unionize…..just like UPS. GO ON STRIKE to get higher wages ( remember the Ups strike some years back?) currently USPS employees working for the Government can not strike. USPS employees are paid less than UPS workers. One day, when there is no USPS, People will be complaining how expensive it to order things thru the mail and how much better it was when there was a government controlled Postal Service. Just ask any Canadian.
Oh….and I forgot to mention…..the USPS has already given congress over 30 Billion dollars….that’s BILLION…to this 2006 postal tax…..and congress instead of saving it for future postal employees retirement and medical fund has spent EVERY PENNY OF IT ! Where’s your report on that??
Phone or no phone, that’s the gentlest treatment that package got along its journey. Seriously have to wonder how stupid some people are that they think this is somehow outrageous treatment of a package. ” oh my, it COULD HAVE been my phone. Oh, no what if??!! I’ll tell you what if. It would have been just fine!!
