Mark Hawkins is a Sales Associate at the Medford post office on Riverside when he recognized a familiar problem in his own store earlier this month.
“I noticed a gentleman come to my counter who had been there two days before and it snapped in my brain that this guy was way overly friendly. He handed me the money order and an ID and i knew it right away took the money order and I’ve seen it,” Hawkins said.
Medford Police say he had been buying money orders in small amounts then changing it getting several hundred dollars back. Hawkins then notified a supervisor that something wasn’t right with this customer went outside and called 9-1-1 to report the crime.
