LAS CRUCES, N.M. A viewer sent KFOX14 photos of a U.S. Postal Service vehicle parked in a handicap spot outside a bank in Las Cruces. Ruben Holguin told KFOX14 this isnt the first time its happened.
Holguin said he has two sons in wheelchairs and thinks people who park in handicap spots when theyre not supposed to are being disrespectful.
A spokesperson with USPS sent KFOX14 a statement that reads, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We certainly apologize for this incident and will take steps to reinforce the message with our employees that parking in handicapped spots is not permitted at any time.
Thats not good enough for a family with two kids in wheelchairs.
One of Holguins son told KFOX14 the person delivering the mail should have known better. He said, One, hes a federal employee and two, theyre not supposed to.
