RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – Theresa Jones left her Carytown apartment early Wednesday morning to run a few errands. When she and her best friend Ricardo Hall came back, they found a pile of mail had mysteriously appeared.

“Something like this — somebody else’s mail plopped near me — that shouldn’t be happening,” Jones said.

She quickly notified police, who came out and took the mail away. We reached out to the U.S. Postal Service and they sent us an email saying they believe the bundle was dropped by a customer. We reached out to some of the neighbors in the community to get their reaction.

“I’m thinking that maybe somebody was tampering with somebody’s mail, went through the mail to see what they could find like a check or something, and abandoned the rest of it right here,” Ricardo Hall said.

Pile of mail dumped on Richmond woman’s front steps
