  1. The man who dies is my father in law. I find some of the things people are saying very rude and uncalled for. He was one of the nicest people I ever met. Very great man! He will be deeply missed

  2. Prayers to the family of the deceased.

Unhappy with the job that puts food on your table and pays your rent? The door swings both ways.

  3. I just want to send my condolences to the family
first off. I also wanted to let everyone know what
a positively wonderful guy he was. He delivered
our company mail and I had the pleasure of
knowing him for the past 7 years. He had the greatest
sense of humor. No matter the weather or
road conditions he always joked about it rather
than complaining about it. I understand he had 4
children and I will pray for those who loved
    him.
I would ask that we all learn something from this
tradgedy instead of using this tradgedy for a political
platform. I also pray that the flaws that are in the USPS system
are now put to the forfront of topic within the postal service.
They are under budgeted however they need to think safety first.
No blame needs to be cast by anyone they just
need to improve the system and hopefully learn from this.
God rest you’re soul and it was my pleasure to know you sir.
    You will not be forgotten.

  4. Condolences to the family and friends of the man who died, the poor driver who has to live with this, and the employees who have to live with this tragedy at their work place. Be respectful and please stop using tragedies like this as a forum for your bitching. We all need to work together to make our work places safe.

  5. Actually, you might be surprised by how quiet a trailer is. I worked in a trailer shop. If there are other machines running, and your’e at the rear of a trailer, it’s kind of spooky. I have been surprised more than once.

  6. Drivers cannot see 100% what/who is behind them. Hard to believe an unimpaired person could not know a truck was backing up near by. A semi is not a small quiet vehicle.

  7. I work in this environment and am greatly saddened for the these two employees, their families, and loved ones. While I do not work in the Brooklyn Center facility, I work where these semis are backing up several times a day. I have difficulty understanding how this nightmare could even occur. Wasn’t the semi’s back up warning sounding? The beeping that I thought always occurred automatically any time the vehicle is put in reverse? I have great respect for semi drivers and the tight places in which they sometimes have to maneuver. I would never dream of stepping behind a semi that was backing up. Didn’t the fatally injured employee hear the semi backing up? My heart goes out to all those affected by this awful tragedy…I will keep them all in my prayers….especially the semi driver. May God bless you and watch over you.

  8. Shame on everyone who is turning this article about a tragedy, into their own personal political rant. How would you like it if the loss YOUR life were treated as though it were so insignificant? Take your garbage political posts, and shove them! Praying for the family of this man, that they can take strength from the Lord, to endure this time of loss, and that they can find peace in beautiful memories of their Father, Husband, Brother & Son, and take comfort in the CERTAINTY of a Glorious reunion in Paradise. My deepest condolences to his family, and co-workers (who are just the same as family). Silver Farr, City Letter Carrier – Retired.

  9. Can’t believe how tasteless you clowns are. A postal employee is dead and you’re trying to score political points. Have you no shame? no sense of decency?

  10. You can have a democratic congress and a democratic president for 8 yrs but you’ll still hear how it’s republicans causing the problems .. How bout looking to blame your union reps ?

  11. WOULD YOU ASSHOLES QUIT YOUR WHINING AND SHOW SOME DAMN RESPECT?? I KNOW THE GUY WHO WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK, HES MY CO WORKER, AND HE IS THE NICEST GUY YOU COULD KNOW, AND THE GUY WHO DIDNT MAKE IT WAS A FATHER OF 4, THINK ABOUT THAT INSTEAD OF ALL THE NEGATIVE CRAP, I WORK THERE AND IT ISNT THAT BAD!!

  12. What is wrong with you Morons.
Kids lost their father today, A family is devastated.
    Coworkers and witnesses are devastated.
    Put yourself “there”.
    Think outside your bubble…………..

  13. I totally agree with Terry, and everything they said. I retired at the end of January with only 24 yrs but I was so glad to go. My body was getting broken down with all the extra work being dumped on me on an everyday basis. Now since 2 of us left out of this particular station, they didnt replace our bids. Guess the 3 clerks that are left will have to do all the work. Oh I forgot they have a few PSE’s here and there, that do not know what they are doing. It is going down pretty fast. I personally do not know how mail is getting from point A to point B. As for a truck running over someone, that is inexcusable. Heads will roll over this one. Hang in there everyone….try to get out even if your retirement isnt what you thought it was going to be. Its called BUDGET. Believe me, its worth it.

  14. At least get the facts right. Mr. Ronald Reagan started the free phone deal, but then it was a land line. All politicians are liars, but Bush and Mr. Greenspan caused the crash.

  15. Deomon-crats, that guy was wrong for the 1st four years, before taking office, all wrong, and vote him right back in, for more diasters to happen in another 4 years. Think Bengahzi, Fast & Furious, AP News, no deportation even for ILLEGALS, NSA, etc… You paying the illegals support payments, while they get GRATIS. Next vacation, cost you all $60+ million $$$$$ to go back to where he was really born, in the jungle. You all vote demon-crat became his new slaves.
Lies, and cover ups, that’s all you get for 8 years. Incompetent, deceitful, unqualified, got people fooled = twice.
Ya’all happy with y’all’s free phones, and food stamp debit cards, cause that’s all you get from that incompetent pretend guy in the white house.

  16. Where is BO the do????? – missing from the ‘white’ house. Those fake dog people should never have been allowed to own a dog, they are abusing. Those fake money grabbers, and vacation thieves should not be allowed to be in the ‘white’ house. Voters put the wrong guy in office, as unqualified asincompetent, an affirmative action dude, as the stupid-visors running the PO. Run the PO to the ground, like that guy is running this country into the ground. A person who walks where the big rigs are, should have their eyes and ears wide open. Guess they had a bad day from their stupid-visor, and wasn’t concentrating while they were walking into the path of a truck.

  17. Right on Terry. We are witnessing the destruction of the USPS, by the very people who are supposed to be running it.

  18. It’s time to go. Trucks pulling out without telling dispatch and no one knows where the loads at.
    Show me the money.

  19. Probably see more of these happening as the post office has created a very hostile working environment. They have slashed jobs by not reposting them as people retire and employees are understaffed and some employees cannot handle this environment and I can see a workplace shooting in the near future as the postal management does not know how to handle this. This is a terrible place to work due to the understaffing and it’s only going to get worse. I have five more years to go and can’t wait to get out of this poorly run company. It should be called postmart after walmart as this is what is has become and the only thing missing is the low wages and the republican party and postal management are working on that.
