BAKERSFIELD, Calif. Postal inspectors investigating a rash of mail thefts in Bakersfield that don’t appear to fit the typical break in. Thieves aren’t leaving behind any obvious sign of a break in at the box. The postal service didn’t have an exact number of thefts, but viewers have called our newsroom to report mailbox break ins in northwest and southwest Bakersfield.

Patrick Jennison said this happened in his Seven Oaks neighborhood and at a rental property he owns in Haggin Oaks Villas, along with his workplace. Jennison said, “Certainly something needs to be done and it’s frustrating.”
