DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — Postal workers are making special deliveries to South Florida families who write letters to Santa Claus.

All letters are answered by Santa Claus himself, addressing them, “Dear Little Friend.” The Deerfield Beach U.S. Post Office has had a very busy month, wrapping gifts for boys and girls. “We went out yesterday and gave out the toys, and the kids were very thrilled,” said mail carrier Tangerean Davis.

This year, Jenna Basso and her brother Cade received more than just a letter. “Santa Claus came early. It means that we’ve been very good this year,” said Cade.

“Every year we write letters to Santa, and every year we get a reply from this post office,” said Jenna and Cade’s mom, Samantha Basso.

Santa’s elves traded in their green and red outfit for blue ones as they helped Santa spread the Christmas spirit to local children. “This is what it’s all about, giving,” said postal worker Linda Shelak.
