July 21, 2015 BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) — A South Boston mail carrier says the city’s policy on towing went too far after his car was removed while he was delivering mail.
David Johnson said he parked at the intersection of H and East Third Street on Friday because there were no other available parking spaces near the south Boston post office.
Johnson said in the time it took for him to walk into the post office, get his delivery of mail for his route, and walk out, his car had vanished.\
“The first thing I thought it, my car was stolen,” Johnson told FOX25.
Instead, Johnson had received a $40 ticket from the city, and a $128 tow fee for parking on a street scheduled for street cleaning.

Postal worker’s car towed while he was on duty
po mismanager material………turds float to the top in this corrupt govt agency!
Lesson learned huh!!!
I wonder if they would’ve ticketed/towed an LLV (mail truck)? If not, then they should’ve treated his vehicle similarly.
I wonder if an ambulance or police car would’ve been towed under the same circumstances.
A few words or advice for the dunce. Working for the Post Office does not exempt you from traffic laws. Loose the “look how stupid I look”, backwards ball cap. You’re supposed to be wearing a uniform, not a costume. The ball cap isn’t even a uniform cap. If you want to cry that you serve the people-show some pride in how you do it.
Not above the law…. should have found a spot and walked a little ~~ or a lot.
